Short-Term Disability

CU's short-term disability insurance plan provides income in the event of an illness, injury or pregnancy.

Short-term disability provides you a percentage of your income during certain events where you may not be able to work for up to 154 work days. These life events include an illness, injury or pregnancy. When you're expecting a new addition to your family or are injured, you can take time for yourself without having to worry about losing income.

Plans differ between faculty, university and classified staff. However, all plans will replace 60% of your income up to specific maximum per week or month.

Eligibility: You must be in a benefits-eligible position, working 50% or greater time to be eligible. You may enroll during the annual benefits Open Enrollment period only.
