Turkish Airlines layover benefit in Istanbul

Make the most of your layover in Istanbul.

Eligible Turkish Airlines passengers connecting through Istanbul Airport may qualify for one of two complimentary programs: a guided city tour or a hotel stay, depending on layover length and ticket eligibility.

Option 1: Touristanbul (6–24 hour layover)

Passengers traveling between two international destinations via Istanbul Airport with a layover of 6–24 hours may qualify for a complimentary guided city tour.

Participation conditions

• Departure and arrival flights must be on the same reservation.
• Ticket number must begin with 235 (Turkish Airlines).
• Layover must align with tour schedule.
• Passengers with an online reservation must check-in at the Touristanbul desk at least 30 minutes before the scheduled tour departure time.
• Passengers must return to departures at least 1 hour 25 minutes before flight.
• Cannot be combined with the Stopover hotel program.

Tours

• Operate daily.
• Start and end at Istanbul Airport.
• Include transportation, guide services, meals and museum entrance fees.
• Are subject to change or cancellation due to operational conditions (weather, traffic, city events).

Option 2: Stopover in Istanbul (20+ hour layover)

Passengers with an international-to-international connection and a layover of at least 20 hours (and up to 7 days) may qualify for complimentary hotel accommodation.

Eligibility requirements

• Outbound and return flights must be on the same reservation (separate tickets are not accepted). 
• Ticket number must begin with 235 (Turkish Airlines).
• Country of first departure must be included in the official eligible country list.
• Application must be submitted at least 72 hours before departure.
• Benefit available once (either outbound or return).
• Not valid for N or R fare classes.
• Cannot be combined with Touristanbul on the same route.

Accommodation details

Standard entitlement:

• Economy Class passengers: 1 night in a 4-star hotel (bed-and-breakfast basis)
• Business Class passengers: 2 nights in a 5-star or boutique hotel (bed-and-breakfast basis)

Special country provisions (including the United States, Canada, Australia and others):

• Economy Class passengers: 2 nights
• Business Class passengers: 3 nights

Additional conditions:

• Complimentary nights must be used consecutively.
• Airport-to-hotel transportation and local expenses are the passenger’s responsibility.
• Visa requirements are the passenger’s responsibility.
• Hotel availability is subject to allocated quota.
• A valid hotel voucher must be presented at check-in.
