Paid Parental Leave for CU System

Eligible employees receive four weeks (160 hours) of paid parental leave upon the birth, adoption, foster placement or guardianship of a child.

For new parents, nothing is more important than taking time to care for, and bond with, their growing families.

That’s why the University of Colorado System Administration guarantees eligible 12-month faculty, university staff and classified staff 4 weeks (160 hours) of paid parental leave upon the birth, adoption, foster placement or guardianship of a child.

Eligibility

A regular 12-month faculty, university staff or classified staff employee is eligible for paid parental leave if the employee has worked for 12 consecutive months in a 50% or greater appointment at the university immediately prior to the date of birth, adoption, foster care placement or guardianship of a child.
